1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, firm name, and role when you create an account, request a demo, or contact us. We also collect usage data automatically, including pages visited, search queries, features used, device information, IP address, and browser type. We do not collect or process the content of your research sessions for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Legent platform; to communicate with you about your account, service updates, and new features; to respond to support requests; to enforce our terms of service; and to comply with legal obligations. We never use your research content, annotations, or memos to train, fine-tune, or improve machine learning models.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating the platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing), subject to strict confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Legent, our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. Research session data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, SAML 2.0 SSO, role-based access controls, and regular third-party security audits (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001). For details, please see our Security page.
6. International Data Transfers
Legent processes data in the region selected by the customer (Brasil, México, or the United States). For transfers outside the customer's chosen region, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and equivalent mechanisms under applicable LATAM data protection laws.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@legent.ai. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the platform and optional analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
9. Children's Privacy
Legent is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before taking effect.
